Yes. In August 2024, less than two months from its season finale, Dark Matter was officially renewed for season 2. Apple TV+ head of programming Matt Cherniss teased that season 2 will pack “more twists and turns as we dive deeper into the mysteries of the multiverse”.
Apple Studios might have decided to greenlight the series for season 2 based on the critics’ scores and viewers’ ratings, and they might opt for a brand new story altogether or continue the story along the lines of a parallel universe featuring different characters.

Jason Dessen, a professor at a community college in Boston, is abducted and transported to a parallel universe where his wife Daniela and son Charlie are missing.
In alternate reality, he discovers that he decided to take a different direction in life by choosing not to marry his spouse Daniela and focused on his profession as a physicist. Captured and interrogated by researchers who confuse him for his alternate version, Jason discovers that his captor known as Jason2 arranged for him to live out the life he had left behind.
Determined to reunite with his family in his original world, he teams up with his alternate universe’s therapist Amanda, to look out for different worlds in pursuit of his home universe.
