Following the conclusion of the Thailand Open 2024, the BWF World Tour shifted to Malaysia this week. The involvement of some of the biggest names in the badminton fraternity also makes the Malaysia Masters 2024 a significant event.

Held for the first time in 2009, the Malaysia Masters is organised by the Badminton Association of Malaysia with sanction from the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Here is a quick round-up of all the important details of the Malaysia Masters 2024:

  • Date: 21-26 May
  • Venue: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Usually, the top players prefer to take a break between tournaments instead of playing every week. However, the Thailand Open 2024 marked the first BWF World Tour tournament since the Spain Masters at the fag end of March. Therefore, the gap of over a month prompted the world’s best shuttlers to partake in the Malaysian competition.

India’s Prannoy H.S. is the defending champion in the men’s singles category. On the other hand, Akane Yamaguchi of Japan won the women’s singles title in 2023.

Besides the silverware, the Malaysian badminton tournament also offers monetary rewards to its participants.
