After Japan, the Asian leg of the BWF World Tour 2024 moves to South Korea for a week of enthralling badminton action. The Korea Open 2024 promises to be a gripping badminton tournament. Before we discuss it at length, here are a few key points:
Held for the first time in 1991, the Korea Open gained the status of a BWF Super Series event in 2007. In 2018, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) recognised it as one of its seven Super 500 tournaments on the World Tour.
The status of the Korea Open has been great enough to attract star shuttlers from every era since its inception. Players like Peter Gade, Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan, Chen Long and Kento Momota (among several others) have made their mark here.
As of 2024, the Korea Open ranks alongside badminton tournaments such as the Australian Open in the BWF Super 500 category. In practice, this means an improved payout structure and points pool as compared to the BWF World Tour Super 300 events.
So, on that note, join us as we walk you through the prize money pool of the Korea Open 2024, its schedule, venue and details of the live stream.
